3/8″ Red Worsted Wool Tape

$2.75

Made in England

3/8″ (10 mm)

Worsted trim of this width may be found as a trim on civilian coats around buttonholes and along the edge. In 1752 “a white Servant Man” ran away as advertised in The Virginia Gazette. He “had on when he went away, a blue Cloth Coat and Breeches, faced, lined and trimmed with Red . . .  he’s an Englishman, and hath been in the Country about a Year; and pretends to be a Coachman”. Scarlet 35/2 linen thread will match this for hand sewing.
