This buckle matches knee buckle BCS 102, is copied from an original found in the Hudson River Valley and is available in both brass and nickle. It will accommodate a normal man's shoe strap width of 1 3/8". The overall dimensions are 2" by 2 1/2". In The New York Gazette in 1776 "Run Away a negro man he carried with him a pair of fashionable plated shoe and knee buckles".
